Originally a native of Florida, Dr. Janine Matos discovered her love for "Pure Michigan" while completing her professional training in the Midwest. She earned her Bachelor’s in Chemistry from the University of South Florida before relocating to Michigan to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Detroit Mercy. There, she was honored with the American Association of Endodontics Student Achievement Award and served as Student Government President.
Dr. Matos completed a General Practice Residency at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland followed by specialty training in Endodontics at The Ohio State University. During her residency, she earned a Master of Science for her research on acute pain management—work that was recently published in the Journal of Endodontics. This background allows her to bring a highly specialized, evidence-based approach to patient comfort and clinical success.
Before joining Grandville Endodontics, Dr. Matos spent several years providing specialized care in Holland and throughout West Michigan. She is a licensed Endodontist in the State of Michigan and an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and the Alpha Omega International Dental Society. Dr. Matos is also competent in Spanish, facilitating clear communication for a diverse range of patients. She and her husband, Jordan—a local periodontist—live in West Michigan with their daughter, Rhema, and their dog, Ollie. She is an avid football fan (Go Blue!) and enjoys exploring Michigan’s local trails and shores.
